STORY BEHIND THE SHOT: The dirty Ferrari California

This photo was shot at the 2014 Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival in October, an event taking place at a historic track which winds around a scenic lake. In addition to the track event, there was a car show where owners could still show their car, even if they weren’t participating in the non-competitive driving portion.

Lake Garnett is located about 75 miles away from Kansas City, so the annual event draws many enthusiasts from the area. For example, the KC Ferrari Club came down to watch and enjoy the day.

The roads on the property leading to the lake were barely one-lane and made up of dirt and gravel, winding through a golf course. The Ferraris made the trek down the long, rough road and eventually arrived at the lake, where the only parking surface was grass.

The cars in the KC Ferrari Club are regularly driven around town and seen at car shows in the area. It was great to see this beautiful California with ADV.1 wheels covered with dirt. After all, they’re made to be driven!
